EUGENE, Oregon (3/24/25) – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team completed Day 1 at the Duck Invite on Monday at the Eugene Country Club. Jaren Calkins is atop the leaderboard and right behind him is teammate Kristof Panke, as the Pokes sit in third as a team at 562 (-6).
Oregon leads in the team standings at 558 (-10). St. Mary’s is second at 559 (-9).
“I’m thrilled for them,” head coach Joe Jensen said. “Jaren played great. Kristof played great. All the kids played hard. We’ve been going since late January, and we have some reps under us now and we are trending, and we are starting to get a smidge more consistency.”
Calkins boasted matching rounds of 66 (-5) to fire a 132 (-10). He piled up 11 birdies and had just one bogey on the day to position himself three shots clear of the field.
Panke, who shares second place, carded a 67 (-4) followed by a 68 (-3) for a two-round total of 135 (-7). He recorded an eagle and nine birdies.
Patrick Azevedo is tied for 47th at 146 (+4). He registered identical 73s (+2) that featured nine birdies.
