Buying local benefits everyone
With a late Thanksgiving this year making for a shortened Christmas season, Cody folks are in the midst of holiday parties, holiday concerts and, of course, Christmas shopping.
With that being said, it’s a good time to remember to shop locally as much as possible.
Your patronage of Cody retailers not only supports your neighbors, but also allows those retailers to support your community.
Retailers around Park County provide contributions to school activities, youth athletics, community fundraisers, civic organizations and many other worthwhile services. Without those generous contributions, many civic projects could not happen.
Without a healthy retail industry, small towns across Wyoming and the entire United States suffer.
Cody cannot rely on the tourism industry, robust for just five months or so, to keep the town strong all year around.
You can expect Cody retailers to support your next Girl Scout project or band drive or rodeo competition or youth basketball program.
Those retailers need to be able to count on you to support them.
When you shop locally, you are helping to support all the contributions our retailers make not only to our economy, but also to our community.
It’s in all of our best interests to shop at home. Your community will appreciate it.
