Burr Named Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Week

LARAMIE, Wyoming (9/23/24) – This week marks the sixth time the Mountain West Conference has named Players of the Week this season. In that span, the University of Wyoming soccer team has boasted half the Freshmen of the Week honorees.

Maddie Burr was recognized this time for her play against Oregon State and at Weber State. She started both matches and didn’t leave the field in either, playing a combined 180 minutes.

Burr made her presence felt on both ends of the pitch. She fired one shot in each contest and helped Wyoming log its fourth shutout of the season against the Wildcats.

As stated, this represented the third time that a Cowgirl was named Freshman of the Week this season. Hadley Linder reeled in the same award twice already.
