BRIAN LEE WEEG
Dec. 27, 1961–Aug. 14, 2024
Brian Lee Weeg passed away peacefully in his sleep in Hettinger, North Dakota, Aug. 14, 2024, while on a trucking job.
Brian was born in Newcastle, Wyoming, on Dec. 27, 1961, to his parents Beverly and Roy Weeg. He lived his entire life in Newcastle. He started working with his dad at Weeg’s Body Shop, where he learned to do body repair. At age 16, he also hauled hay with his brother Gayle for the ranchers in the area. He graduated from Newcastle High School in 1980.
In 1984, he bought his first truck. He met Frances Bradford, and they started Weeg and Bradford trucking business together. They went over-the-road trucking, hauling anything a flatbed could haul for 15 years or so. They saw a lot of the country and met some good friends through their business travels. Then they came home and hauled hay until they expanded their business, hauling rock and asphalt with their belly dump trailers for construction projects for different companies.
Brian and Frances enjoyed their big family together. Their house was the place to gather for holiday dinners, game nights, and just some good old family fun.
Brian enjoyed his wild game hunting trips with his dad, brothers, and friends. He liked fishing, camping and other outdoor activities. He made many motorcycle trips with his brother, Roland. He liked to restore old pickups and cars. He enjoyed going to the diners and catching up with friends.
Survivors include his brothers, Gayle (Roxie) and Roland Weeg; their uncle, Dennis Lounfdery; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. He will also be greatly missed by Frances Bradford and her family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly and Roy Weeg.
Services will be Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. at Meridian Mortuary in Newcastle, with a reception to follow at the West End Lounge.
