BLM reopens areas in Sublette County following Bare Fire closure
ROCK SPRINGS (WNE) — The Bureau of Land Management will reopen public lands within the Pinedale Field Office that were temporarily closed due to public safety concerns associated with the Bare Fire.
The closure was rescinded effective Aug. 24.
The closure, which went into effect Aug. 7, included BLM-managed lands beginning along BLM Road 5217 approximately 1.8 miles east of the U.S. Forest Service boundary, extending west to the Forest Service boundary, north along the boundary and east along South Cottonwood Creek to private lands.
Please be aware that the Stage 1 fire restrictions remain in effect on BLM-administered public lands within the High Desert District in Teton, Sublette, Lincoln, Uinta, Sweetwater, Fremont, Carbon, Albany and Laramie counties. These restrictions are in addition to the BLM Wyoming Year-Round Fire Prevention Order, which remains in effect statewide.
