The Bureau of Land Management has announced four meeting dates in January to discuss draft Newcastle and Nebraska Resource Management Plans and Environmental Impact Statements. The purpose is to engage with the community and gather public input, according to a press release dated Dec. 9.

The draft RMP and EIS were both published on Nov. 15, initiating a 90-day public comment period.

“Each open house meeting will be held from 3:30-7:30 p.m., featuring a presentation at 4 p.m. and repeated again at 6 p.m., on the following dates and locations. Two meetings will also be held in Nebraska and will be announced separately,” the release says.

For those unable to attend in person, a Zoom option will be available. Information on the meeting, including the zoom link will be posted on the project website.

“Written comments on the Draft RMPs and EIS will be accepted until Feb. 13, 2025. To review the documents and submit comments, visit the project website,” the release says.

Comments may be submitted by email or mail, or in-person at the public meetings.
