BLANCH E. (FERGUSON) COX

April 15, 1942–Feb. 22, 2026

Blanch E. Cox, 83, of Newcastle, Wyoming, passed away on Feb. 22, 2026.

She was born to parents Lila Ferguson and Edward Ferguson, on April 15, 1942, in Broadus, Montana.

She graduated from Newcastle High School in 1960.

Blanch worked as a bus driver for Weston County School District No. 1 from 1978 to 2008, and Dakota Bus from 2008 to 2022.

Blanch met James “Delightful” Cox, aka JD Cox, in 1961 while working for the Sioux Cafe. They were married on March 23, 1961 in Lead, South Dakota. Together they raised four children, Jay Cox, Janice Womack, Leanne Cox, and Robert Cox. 

She is survived by two siblings, Cap Ferguson and Cora Miller.

A memorial will be later this year.
