Black Hills Energy Public Notice

The Wyoming Public Service Commission (Commission) approved the Application of Black Hills Wyoming Gas, LLC d/b/a Black Hills Energy (BHWG) for authority to pass on a wholesale gas cost increase of $0.0114 per therm for non-Choice Gas customers, effective for usage on and after March 1, 2024. The rate is applicable to 67,987 customers, including the Cheyenne and Cody divisions and all non-Choice Gas customers in the Casper, Gillette, and Torrington divisions who have elected to take service under the Gas Cost Adjustment Rate. The Commission’s approval is subject to notice, protest, intervention, refund, change, further investigation, opportunity for hearing, and further order.

The proposed gas cost rate results in an increase of $1.98 or 0.9% for the typical residential customer using 58 therms per month during March 2024 through May 2024.

Commission Rule Chapter 3, Section 26 allows a utility to pass on to its customers known or projected commodity cost increases or decreases on a dollar-for-dollar basis, subject to public notice, opportunity for hearing, and refund.
