LARAMIE, Wyo. (December 4, 2024) – Head coach Bryan Berryhill announced the 2024-25 indoor track and field schedule on Wednesday, highlighted by seven regular-season meets followed by the Mountain West and NCAA Indoor Championships.
The indoor season begins Saturday, Dec. 7 as Wyoming hosts the Power Meet inside the Hager-LeBar Indoor Track & Field Venue at War Memorial Fieldhouse. The meet will kickoff at noon with competitors from Air Force, Colorado State and South Dakota Mines traveling to Laramie for Saturday’s event.
Pokes will also be in Boston, Mass., for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener hosted by Boston University on Dec. 7. The meet will feature many of the distance runners from the men’s and women’s teams as the Power Meet will only hold sprints and field events.
Wyoming will be back after winter break as they head to Boulder, Colo., for the Colorado Classic hosted by Colorado, on Jan. 17 and 18. This isn’t the only meet in Boulder this season as the Pokes will also attend the Colorado Invite on Jan. 31, with the meet concluding Feb. 1.
Track and Field will return to Bozeman, Mont., in back-to-back years for the Bobcat Challenge hosted by Montana State. The single-day meet will be held on Jan. 25.
Wyoming’s teams will be split Feb. 14-15 as they attend the Husky Classic hosted by Washington and the Don Kirby Invitational hosted by New Mexico. The Husky Classic will be in Seattle, Wash., while the Don Kirby Invite will be in Albuquerque, N.M.
Postseason action starts at the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships. The championship will be at the same venue as the Don Kirby Invitational and will be held from Feb. 27 through March 1.
The 2024-25 indoor season will conclude at the NCAA Indoor Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va., on March 14 and 15.
Last indoor season, two Cowboys and one Cowgirl won conference titles while two returners, Kareem Mersal and Remar Pitter, earned Second-Team All-American honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
