ESPOO, Finland (June 20, 2025) – Former Wyoming Cowgirl basketball player and recent graduate, Tess Barnes, has signed a professional contract to play with Tapiolan Honka of the Naisten Korisliiga League in Finland.

Barnes led the Cowgirls in 3-pointers in each of her final two seasons in the Brown & Gold. The Gisborne, Australia native ended her career 11th in program history with 154 career 3-pointers and is 20th all-time appearing in 118 career games. Barnes averaged 9.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game this past season at UW while shooting 36-percent from beyond-the-arc. Barnes was also a two-time CSC Academic All-District Team honoree during her career.

“Honka was a clear choice for me,” said Barnes.

“I’m super excited to start my new journey with basketball in Finland. I am looking forward to getting to know the team, coaches and the entire community, as well as everything Finland has to offer.”
