Bare Fire contained
JACKSON (WNE) — Firefighters contained the Bare Fire on Saturday, 11 days after the 370-acre fire broke out 20 miles northwest of Big Piney on the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
The fire burned on forest, private and Bureau of Land Management land in Sublette County. The fire cost $3.5 million to contain, according to the National Interagency Fire Center.
Road closures related to the fire are still in effect for public and firefighter safety. Those include Bare Creek Road from its junction with South Cottonwood Road to its junction with Bald Mountain Road; Bald Mountain Road from its junction with Bare Creek Road to the forest boundary; and West Fork Bear Creek Road in its entirety. The area between these roads is also closed.
