The upcoming Camporee in Gillette is expected to be a tremendous success, thanks to the diligent planning and unwavering support from Campbell County and the City of Gillette.

The International Pathfinders Camporee is scheduled to take place from Aug. 5 – 11, 2024 and will host approximately 60,000 Pathfinders from 96 countries.

Comprehensive planning efforts at the local and county levels over the past 18 months have helped prepare and ensure a safe and welcoming environment. The state has been participating in conference calls with roughly 300 invited partners, including event organizers. Planning efforts have focused on transportation, medical emergencies and weather coordination.

Attendees will be visiting Gillette as part of the Seventh-day Adventist church and will travel by various modes of transportation, to include buses and other passenger vehicles, through different areas of the state to reach their destination.

“I want to welcome our visitors and congratulate Campbell County for its work to attract, organize and execute such a large gathering,” Governor Gordon said. “The State has been coordinating with numerous partners to ensure the event runs smoothly.”

"We are proud of the collaborative efforts that have gone into planning this Camporee," Wyoming Office of Homeland Security Director Lynn Budd said. "This event is a testament to the power of community and the positive impact we can have when we come together for a common cause."

The Camporee is a gathering of Pathfinders clubs from around the world. Pathfinders clubs are each similar to a Boy Scouts of America troop, but generally open to boys and girls ages 10-15 and organized worldwide through the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The events are held every five years. (Similar to a Boy Scout Jamboree.) The last Camporee was in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in 2019, with approximately 50,000 attendees.
