ANONA ‘NONA’ F. JONES
July 30, 1937–Jan. 17, 2021
Anona “Nona” F. Jones departed this life to see her Heavenly Father and her husband, Mark Jones, on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at 10:15 a.m.
Nona was born in Newcastle, Wyo., on July 30, 1937. At the age of 9, the Lord gave her the gift of music overnight where she could re-play any song on the organ or piano, in its entirety, that she heard only once. She cannot read music.
She met her husband, Mark, in Newcastle and it is where they married. Soon after they were transferred to Kauai, Hawaii, for 10 years,
then relocated back to Pine Haven, Wyo., in 1976.
In the mid 1980s, Nona and Mark moved to Farmington, N.M., for economic reasons, where she met many, many good people that quickly became their good friends   Mark Jones passed away on March 6, 2011, then her son, Donald Jones, relocated Nona to Gilbert, Ariz., where she spent the next nine years in a memory care home due to advanced Alzheimer’s disease. She died peacefully in her sleep in the group home.
She is survived by her son, Donald Jones; her brother, Olin McIntosh; and her nephew, Kent McIntosh;  and their families.
Nona will never be forgotten and her music will live on forever in the minds of everyone that her life and music touched.
Her son said, “I will see you later Mom.”
Arrangements are in care of Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W. Juniper, Gilbert AZ 85233.
There will not be a memorial service held for Nona, only a Celebration of Life for the immediate family at a private residence.
