ALBERTA EVE HANDO

Alberta Eve Hando, 101, of Newcastle, Wyoming, passed away Sept. 21, 2025, at Weston County Health Services.
She was born in Jump River, Wisconsin, on Nov. 25, 1923, to Reginald and Olive Fall, the second child of 12.
Alberta attended several country schools, including the original Elk Mountain School. When she finished eighth grade, her education ended. She was needed at home to help with her younger siblings.
Alberta met Joe Hando and after a short courtship they married. Not long after their marriage, Joe was drafted and went to fight in World War II. He was part of the Omaha Beach Invasion. When he returned, they had to become re-acquainted. From their union, four children were born: Ronald, Linda, Richard, and Peggy.
Joe worked the oil fields in Wyoming. Their young family traveled to many locations in Wyoming, including Big Piney. They finally settled in Newcastle.
Alberta loved to tell stories of her early days, and her family enjoyed hearing them. She would remember the names of all her relatives’ children. Family was her life!
Alberta is survived by her children, Peggy Laurence of Newcastle, Richard (Dana) Hando of Newcastle; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin Fall of Newcastle, and Jacob (Wendy) Fall of Moorcroft, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hando; son, Ronald Hando; daughter, Linda Templeman; grandson, Jason Hando; parents, Reginald and Olive Fall; and six sisters
and three brothers.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. at Meridian Mortuary. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family extends an invitation to a time of fellowship following the services at the Weston County Senior Citizens Center, in the Michael’s Room.
