CITY COUNCIL HELD VIA TELECONFERENCE
MINUTES
MONDAY, APRIL 20, 2020
 
Mayor Debra Piana called the regular meeting of the Newcastle City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. Those present were Mayor Piana; Council members Pam Gualtieri, Ann McColley, Michael Alexander, Roger Hespe, Tom Voss and Don Steveson.  Also present were Department Heads City Engineer Mike Moore, City Attorney Jim Peck and City Clerk/Treasurer Greg James. Chief Jim Owens was absent.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:   Ann McColley moved, seconded Michael Alexander to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Tom Voss moved, seconded Ann McColley to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday April 6, 2020 as presented.  Motion carried.
NOMINATIONS FOR RECOGNITION:
21 Electric for their new shop and for demolition of the old block building.

MAYOR COUNCIL REPORTS: None
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
City Clerk/Treasurer Greg James: reported receiving the check from Wyoming Community Gas  in the amount of $5222.10, total for the Dow Park restrooms now at $27,964.59. Preliminary budget numbers out by the week’s end.
City Engineer Mike Moore ask for ratification of hiring Jonathan Jarboe, start date April 27, 2020 at an hourly rate of $16.50 per hour, one year probation.  Ann McColley moved, seconded Tom Voss to ratify this hiring.  Motion carried.
City Police Chief Jim Owens emailed a written report to the Council.
City Attorney Jim Peck reported he was still working on access to the orange water tank.

ANY OTHER CITY BUSINESS: none
CLAIMS AGAINST THE CITY: Roger Hespe moved, seconded Don Steveson to pay the claims against the City date April 20, 2020.  Motion carried.  Tom Voss moved, seconded Don Steveson to adjourn this regular meeting of the Newcastle City Council at 7:14 p.m.  Meeting adjourned.
