Upton ballot set for 2026 municipal election
The ballot is set for Upton’s 2026 municipal election following the close of the candidate filing period, with races for mayor and Town Council taking shape.
According to Town Clerk Kelley Millar, voters will elect a mayor and fill two council seats during the upcoming election.
Tiffany McMillan is the lone candidate to file for mayor. McMillan currently serves on the Upton Town Council and has completed one term in office.
Joe Watt is the sole candidate to file for one of the two open council seats. Watt has served two terms on the council and, if elected, will begin a third term.
No candidate filed for the second open council seat before the filing deadline, leaving that position without a candidate on the ballot.
Millar noted that she has heard there are some people interested in running write-in campaigns, but there is nothing official at this time.
