Sheila Mae (Brown) McGoldrick

Dec. 21, 1959–May 20, 2026 

Sheila Mae (Brown) McGoldrick passed away at Blue Iris Assisted Living Center in Hospice Care, while fighting a courageous battle with cancer. 

Sheila was born Dec. 21, 1959, in Newcastle, Wyo-ming, to Lester (Brownie) and Geraldine (Bubbles) Brown. Sheila attended schools in Newcastle and graduated in 1978. 

Sheila met Tom McGoldrick in Newcastle and they were married July 26, 1980. Together they welcomed two children, Kelly and Ryan. After a few stops trying to decide where they would call home, they landed in Wickenburg, Arizona, in 1990. Sheila loved the warm weather in Arizona and chose to remain there after she and Tom divorced. 

Sheila’s children were her life. She took jobs that allowed her to follow their sport activities and school functions. When grandchildren came along, her life was complete. 

Sheila acquired her ability to crochet from her mom. She was always looking for a new idea or pattern to make. Family and friends were recipients of her beautiful gifts. 

Sheila loved diving into family history. She spent hours researching her family’s genealogy. She met new family members through
her research. 

Sheila is survived by her children, Kelly (Zac) Van Kirk of Prescott Valley, Arizona, and Ryan McGoldrick of Orem, Utah; her grandchildren, Khloe, Sean and Faith Van Kirk of Prescott Valley; sister, Linda Gates; brothers, Doug Brown and David (Joni) Brown all of Newcastle; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Geraldine Brown; sister-in-law, Larita Brown; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Nellie Brown; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Helen Bock; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and her best friend, Linda (Hawki) Schneider. 

Sheila will be laid to rest with her parents in Newcastle at a later date.
