Highway Patrol: Wyoming pedestrian killed in April crash identified

CHEYENNE (WNE) — A woman killed in a crash in April has been identified.

On April 20, the Wyoming Highway Patrol responded to a crash on the northbound on-ramp of I-25 from Missile Drive, near mile marker 11. Troopers found that a Kia Sportage entered the on-ramp to get onto I-25 northbound and struck a pedestrian standing in the roadway.

The pedestrian, identified as Brittany Smith, 37, of Wyoming, died at the scene. The crash report did not indicate where Smith lived in Wyoming. There are no charges or citations as a result of this incident.

This marked the 61st death on Wyoming roadways in 2026, compared to 59 in 2025 and 53 in 2024.
