Gray applauds dismissal of challenge to closed primary system
CHEYENNE (WNE) — Wyoming State District Court Judge Daniel Forgey on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit filed by Jimmy Skovgard challenging Wyoming’s closed primary system, granting a motion to dismiss filed by Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray in May.
“I applaud this commonsense order siding with our position and dismissing this outrageously wrong lawsuit brought by the radical left,” Gray said in a news release. “Wyoming’s primary system is vital to the integrity of Wyoming’s elections. Primary elections like Wyoming’s withstand scrutiny around the country as a basic method of choosing candidates for the general election. These baseless lawsuits show how far the radical left will go to dismantle the core systems of our republic.
“I take these attacks on our primary system very seriously, and we have defended lawsuit after lawsuit to ensure the integrity of our elections,” Gray said. “This is another huge win for election integrity in Wyoming.”
