Dog talk moves to Gillette this week

In response to concerns surrounding the prairie dog on the Thunder Basin National Grassland, the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) developed a cooperative working group with other government agencies representing a number of Wyoming counties in this area. The purpose of the group is to provide an avenue for government entities to work with the USFS on prairie dog colony management on the TBNG.

Representatives from Weston County include County Commissioners Bill Lambert and Marty Ertman, Hale Redding from Weed and Pest and Weston County Natural Resource District Manager Lacey Sloan. Those individuals have already attended two meetings this year with the third scheduled for June 7 at the Campbell County Fire Department Training Center in Gillette.
