UW faces strong competition at 10-team event

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Sept. 17, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team travels back to Colorado for their second fall tournament of the season. The Cowgirls will make the trek down to the Air Force Academy for the annual Bedford Cup, held September 19-21.

The three-day event begins with two rounds of doubles and the opening round of singles play Friday. Teams joining Wyoming at the event are Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Idaho, Idaho State, New Mexico, Texas Tech and Utah State.

The Cowgirls are coming off a successful weekend to begin their fall slate down at the Colorado State Jon Messick Invitational. UW had a pair of singles champions last week in Silver Bijlsma and Violetta Borodina. Both student-athletes went 3-0 on the weekend. Wyoming also had a solid weekend of doubles play, going a combined 10-4 in doubles matches.

This weekend is the second of five total events the Cowgirls will participate in this fall season.
