Jan. 20, 1941–Nov. 30, 2019
Sandra Lee Berge, 78, of Newcastle, Wyo., passed away Nov. 30, 2019, at Weston County Health Services.
Sandra was born on Jan. 20, 1941, to Harry Ernest and Elsie Lorraine (Hansen) Nodler in Minneapolis, Minn. She was raised and went to school in Minneapolis, graduating from Washburn High School in 1959.
In 1960 she married Lawrence Bieganek and started her family. Sandra had Pamela in 1961 and Scott in 1962.
In the late 1970s Sandra met Jim Berge and in 1980 they were married, combining more children to their family: Laura, Jeffery and Billy. Sandra continued her career at Soo Line Railroad until they decided to move to Newcastle, where Jim took a job in law enforcement. While in Newcastle, she became active in the Flowering Fingers Gardening Club and the Funky Fiber Arts Quilting Club. Sandra enjoyed sewing and quilting with her friends. Her faith was always important to her as were her five children, five grandchildren, and dog Dolly. Sandra had a huge heart and was very caring and generous to anyone she ran across. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Jim of Newcastle; children, Pamela (Gary Wilke) Farrington of Stacy, Minn., Scott (Ann) Bieganek of Chanhassen, Minn., Laura Barber of Dayton, Minn., and Jeffery Berge of Stacy; sisters, Nancy (Ken) Hailey of Phoenix, Ariz., and Barbara (Michael) Kennedy of Frenchtown, Mont.; brother, Richard (Mary) Nodler of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Robert, Brett, Codi, Claire, and Elizabeth; and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Sophie, and Callan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and son, Billy. The family requests that memorials be made in Sandra’s name to benefit Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
Memorial service for Sandra Berge was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, at Christ The King Lutheran Church with Pastor Fred Grundmann officiating.
