Tips for Planning a Fun Corporate Retreat

Is the office low on morale? Have you tried new office group activities, but productivity numbers are still low? Planning a corporate retreat is a great way to build office morale. But you can’t just plan any trip. You need to put some serious thought into your company getaway.
You must choose the perfect destination that ignites creativity and collaboration for your team. Your retreat should be exciting and relaxing. Read these tips for planning a fun corporate retreat to bring back that spark your office needs.
Choose a Venue
There are many venue options for corporate retreats. You can decide on anything from a large conference room to a national park. The possibilities are endless.
Before you choose a venue, think about your team and the current work environment. Observe what areas you feel your team needs encouragement on. Maybe long hours in the office mean they need a couple of days at a beach resort. Or perhaps collaboration skills are lacking, and they need to spend a day doing a group scavenger hunt.
Start the collaboration process early. Get everyone’s insights on what they think would make a fun trip. Narrow down the best three or four options, and then take a poll to see which one wins.
Choose a Mode of Transportation
If you choose a local spot for your retreat, consider providing transportation for your staff. Instead of everyone driving down themselves, rent a couple of passenger vans. One passenger van fits up to 15 people. Depending on the size of your company, two or three should do the trick!
With passenger vans, you have plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and store their luggage out of the way. Apart from the extra space, they come with a handful of amenities. For example, the in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot gives you a chance to stream shows and movies before you reach your destination.
The vans also make for easy transportation while on your retreat. You need a way to get around while on your trip. If you schedule any activities away from the central location, having a passenger van makes travel 10 times easier.
Choose the Right Activities
Now that you’ve handled the logistics, you can start planning for the fun part of the retreat. Choose activities and events you will do as a group.
Plan a few activities that force you to break up into smaller groups, making for better collaborative styles and building stronger work relationships. Include at least two big group activities to test out the harmony of your company.
Consider hiring a few experts in group and team-building exercises. These experts can come up with fresh ideas and honestly observe your group because they are a third party. Hire a motivational speaker for the last day there. Get everyone pumped to go back to work better than they were before.
Planning a fun corporate retreat takes a bit of work, but you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting the ball rolling with these tips.
