Every year, sometime around early April, golf enthusiasts flock to the Newcastle Country Club to play on the community’s only public course — which features nine challenging holes, not to mention a driving range and practice green — where local players hone their skills.

The local weather allows for a season that generally lasts until late October. The Country Club can be reserved for weddings, receptions, meetings and other special parties and events, and members enjoy the social atmosphere provided in the clubhouse six months out of the year.

The Newcastle Country Club hosts a number of its own tournaments and other special outings during the season, and the pro shop has just about anything a player could need.

Full individual and family memberships are available to residents, and other packages are provided as well. The public is invited to play on the course, and can do so affordably because of the inexpensive green fees. Rental carts and clubs are also available.
