LORI ARDETH BROWN

Lori Brown was born Nov. 28, 1960, in Newcastle, Wyoming, to Lawrence and Patricia “Pat” (Patterson) Price. She grew up on the family ranch and spent many hours riding her horses. She attended school in Newcastle, and graduated in 1979.
Lori met Marden Brown in 1978 in Newcastle, and they were united in marriage in 1980. From this union came eight children: daughters, Elizabeth, Amy, Sara, Symaria, Mariah, Hannah, Deborah, and son Jean. Marden and Lori also fostered more than 20 children when they lived in Missouri and Wyoming.
Lori and Marden moved to Lead, South Dakota, in 1993 and settled in Chamberlain, South Dakota, in 1999.
Lori spent more than two decades raising her children. She moved to Rapid City, South Dakota, in 2003 and went on to obtain an associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies from Western Dakota Tech. She worked in the field for three years.
Lori settled in Ellendale, North Dakota, in 2009, where she was the secretary of the chamber of commerce and managed the Prairie Winds Hotel with her daughter Hannah.
Lori is survived by her children, Amy Brown and fiancé Adam, Sara Braun and life partner, Symaria Brown, Mariah Prelewicz and husband Zane, Hannah Brown, Deborah Brown, and Jean Brown; sister-in-law, Camille Price; niece, Melissa (Price) Pledger; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant daughter, Elizabeth “Beth”; her brother, Lawrence “Larry”; a niece, Christina “Krys” (Price) Clarke; and grandson, Ethen Hopkins.
