JACK FREDERICK HOLWELL

Feb. 29, 1928–Aug. 27, 2023
Jack Frederick Holwell, age 95, of Springfield, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 27, 2023. He was born on Feb. 29, 1928, in Hoquiam, Washington to Harland Harvey and Vica Jane (Cain) Holwell.
He graduated from Newcastle High School, Newcastle, Wyoming. Jack enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably until his discharge.
He was united in marriage to Betty Joan Wineteer on May 28, 1959. From this union, two daughters, Shelly and Jacque, were born. Jack was an authorized Culligan Water Softener dealer and ran his business in Newcastle for over 40 years. He was a huge pillar of the community. He served as a Newcastle volunteer firefighter for over 30 years and was a life-long member of the Masons, American Legion and Lions Club. Jack also served as a bus driver for the Newcastle school district for 20 years.
While his family was younger, they enjoyed camping, boating and motorcycle trail rides. In his free time, he tinkered with woodworking projects and restoring vintage cars. He enjoyed conversation with anyone he met.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Doug Holwell.
He is survived by the love of his life of 64 years, Betty Jo Holwell; two daughters, Shelly Dean (Vaughn Peterson) of Newcastle, and Jacque (Joe) Williams of Strafford, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jason (Erin) Dean, Justin Dean (Kelsey Iverson), Leah (Mike) Starling, Colt (Jennifer) Williams, Casey (Haley) Williams and Josh (Logan) Williams; sister-in-law, Joan Holwell; 10 great-grandkids, Kaylee Williams, Kayden Williams, Natalie Dean, Hanna Starling, Anna Dean, Ella Dean, Ada Dean, Ada Williams, Olive Williams, Jack Dean and two on the way; and a host of family and friends.
Jack was a member of Marshfield First Baptist Church, Marshfield, Missouri. Jack’s wishes were to be cremated with a celebration of life at a later date.
