Gregory Bruggeman, 69, of Newcastle, Wyo., passed away on Sept. 4, 2022, after a courageous battle with dementia.
Gregory was born on March 5, 1953, to Dale and Muriel Bruggeman in Crookston, Minn. After graduating from South High in Mandan, N.D., he went on to join the U.S. Marine Corps. Greg met Debbie and had two children, Shane, 1971, and Jennifer Kay, 1975. 
After his military completion in 1976, he went on to Newcastle. In 1978, he met Donna Schaeffer, and gained two stepchildren, Jason and Jennifer Lynn. They had a daughter, Alicia, born in 1987.
After retiring in 2014 he spent his time working around his home until his time at Fort Meade.
Gregory was predeceased by his parents, Dale and Muriel; life partner of 30-plus years, Donna; sister in-law, Cathy (Keith) Bruggeman; brother in-law, Dan (Jacki) Duncan; and long-life friends, Nancy and Kid Bell.
He is survived by his children, Shane of Moorehead, Minn., Jason (Kim) Jenkins of Newcastle, Jennifer K (Doug) Hayworth of Great Falls, Mont., Jennifer L (Ryan) Johnson of Newcastle, and Alicia (Travis) Hintz of Shawnee, Okla.; siblings, Keith (Cathy), Jackie (Dan), Jeff (Cheryl), Terry (Karen), Kathi (Mark) and Steven, all of North Dakota/Minnesota; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A rite of burial will be held on Sept. 30, at 4 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle. A celebration of life will follow at VFW Post No. 2516 in Newcastle.
Black Hills Funeral Home is in charge of cremation. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Fort Meade VA Hospital c/o Gregory Lee Bruggeman.
