DONALD PIPER

Donald Piper, 94, passed away peacefully at home in Osage, Wyoming, on Oct. 31, 2023. 

Don was born Aug. 5, 1929, in Carter, South Dakota, to Mr. and Mrs. Verne Piper. Don was raised in the Wood, South Dakota, area. In 1948, he was married to Ina Meyer of Witten, South Dakota. They were married for 62 years at the time of her death in 2010. Don and Ina lived in Wood, Witten, Winner, and Hot Springs, South Dakota, before moving to Wyoming in 1968.

Don is survived by seven children, Patricia (Charles) Murry of Dallas, Texas, Gary Piper of Osage, Wyoming, Donna (Bill) Tavegia of Upton, Wyoming, Bonnie (David) Bau of Osage, Wyoming, Jerry (Debbi) Piper of Osage, Roger (Katie) Piper of Chicago, Illinois, and Lisa (Mike) Wood of Osage; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Don is also survived by two brothers, Harold, and Rodney Piper.

Don is preceded in death by his wife, Ina; parents, Verne and Beatrice; and brothers, Edward and Roland. He was laid to rest alongside his wife, Ina, at Greenwood Cemetery in Upton, on Saturday, Nov. 4.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Services were held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Moorcroft, Wyoming.
