Cowgirls Finish Seventh at CSU Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic

Fort Collins, Colo. - (Sept. 27, 2022) – The Wyoming Cowgirl golf squad wrapped up play at the CSU Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic on Tuesday with the final 18 holes of play. Kyla Wilde and Samantha Hui both recorded top 25 finishes for the third straight tournament leading the Cowgirls to a seventh-place finish.
Wilde led the way for the Cowgirls displaying consistency throughout the entire tournament posting a score of 216 (E) to finish tied for 14th. Hui finished just behind Wilde in a tie for 17th with a score of 218 (+2). The Duo of Morgan Ryan and Jadan Gonzalez both finished tied for 29th with a score of 221 (+5). Jessica Zapf rounded out the Cowgirls lineup finishing tied for 54th.
As a team, the Cowgirls put together a very impressive tournament posting a team score of 876 (+12) which ranks second in program history just four strokes shy of the school record. With the outstanding score, the Cowgirls finished in seventh amongst the 11-team field coming in just two strokes behind sixth place Long Beach State. Nevada ran away with the team title posting a team score of 832 (-32).
Amongst the three Cowgirls playing as individuals, Rachel Stoinski led the way finishing tied for 44th with a total score of 228 (+7). Grace Dunkleberger and Sophie Spiva finished tied for 51st and 54th respectively.
Up next for the Cowgirls will be another trip to Colorado as they are set to compete in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Oct. 7- Oct. 9.
