ORDINANCE NO. 3, SERIES 2022

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13 SERIES 1985 AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF NEWCASTLE, NEWCASTLE, WYOMING,

ORDINANCE NO. 13 SERIES 1985 IS HEREBY AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 6. DISTRICT REGULATIONS

Section 6 c. R-1 – Single-Family Residential District, subparagraph (2) is amended to include subparagraph 2(n):

 

(n)  Carports provided they meet the following criteria:

For a single lot only

The lot cannot be part of a zone lot that includes other lots

The lot size is 6,000 square feet or less

The lot existed before January 1, 2021

The lot has an existing primary structure and the carport is to be built on a pre-existing driveway.  Both the driveway and primary structure must have existed prior to January 1, 2021

Carports may not exceed 18 ft. in width by 20 feet in length

Have no sidewalls

The roof line can extend no more than 18 inches below the eave line on both sides

Maximum setback for both the front and side yard shall be met up to normal requirements

For front yards only

Installation would need to meet building code and manufacturer installation requirements

 

Section 6 d. R-2 – Single- and Two-family Residential District, subparagraph (2) is amended to include subparagraph 2(r):

 

(r)  Carports provided they meet the following criteria:

For a single lot only

The lot cannot be part of a zone that includes other lots

The lot size is 6,000 square feet or less

The lot existed before January 1, 2021

The lot has an existing primary structure and the carport is to be built on a pre-existing driveway.  Both the driveway and primary structure must have existed prior to January 1, 2021

(i)  Carports provided they meet the following criteria:

The lot existed before January 1, 2021

The lot has an existing primary structure and the carport is to be built on a pre-existing driveway.  Both the driveway and primary structure must have existed prior to January 1, 2021

Section 6 j. C-2 – Central Business District, subparagraph (2) is amended to include subparagraph 2:

 

Single-family dwellings that existed before January 1, 2021 but not any single-family dwellings to be constructed after January 1, 2021
