The unemployment rate for Weston County dropped 0.6 percent between March and May of this year, according to the Research and Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. The state continues to see a drop in the unemployment rate as well, with a 0.4 percent decrease over the same time period.
Unemployment rates in Weston County are significantly lower than the 2017 rates for the same period, with a 0.9 percent decrease between March of last year to March of this year and a 0.4 percent decrease between May of last year to May of this year.
The number of unemployed individuals in Weston County in 2018 totaled 144 in March and dropped to 119 by May. During the same period, the number of unemployed workers in Wyoming declined from 12,055 to 10,845.
