For the first time in her two years as the 26th president of the University of Wyoming, Laurie Nichols visited Newcastle on May 2 to discuss the school’s five-year plan and answer questions from those who attended.
“We are breaking through four broad goals with several items that fall under each goal,” Nichols said in her presentation. “Anyone at the university can attest to how focused we are on these goals that will take us to 2022.”
One major focus of the five-year plan, Nichols said, is growing the enrollment of the only university in the state. She noted that the school has a current enrollment of about 12,400. About 10,000 of those students are on campus in Laramie.
