Dogies excel at Regionals

The Dogies blew out of the gates with a couple of championships to start the 3A East Regional Track meet last Friday in Douglas, and finished strong with two more championships to close it out on Saturday. In between, they managed to clinch one other title, and send 11 new qualifiers to State in 15 additional events.

“I think this is the best Regionals we’ve had since I’ve been coaching, and in talking with others I don’t know the last time that we have had both the boys and girls win the 4×400,” grinned head coach Chad Ostenson. “It was awesome that we bookended the meet by winning the first and last events, and we ended up with 10 kids earning All-Conference honors!”

The ten athletes who were named to the post-season list were those who finished first in their events. The list includes seniors Cam Quigley and Sarah Henkle, juniors Lexus Voelker, Cade Ostenson and Jake Lacey, sophomores Grace Coy and Hailey McGuire, and freshmen Carson Quigley, Grayson Ramsey and Zach Purviance.
