Teachers invited to state workshop on new science standards

The Wyoming Content and Performance Standards for the state’s schools are reviewed every nine years. The most recent review, which affected the state’s science standards, occurred in 2015 and 2016 and was adopted Sept. 23, 2016. School districts have three years to transition to the new science standards, and teachers will be given their first opportunity to understand how that will happen at a workshop in Newcastle next month.

To help teachers transition to the most recent science standards, the Wyoming Department of Education will host the “Implementing the Wyoming Science Standards” professional development workshop Nov. 9-10 in Newcastle.
