Summer Season at Raceway stirs excitement

For the 22nd year in a row, the Newcastle Raceway is offering a full slate of races for the summer season at the track at the Weston County Fairgrounds.

Raceway Superintendent Randy Hershey told the News Letter Journal that the track is again offering a variety of racing endeavors for local speed freaks, and summer events will include races from the Black Hills mini sprint tour, 600CC mini sprints,  the new class of 250CC mini sprints, kart races, motorcycle races, legend races, and a new ATV race that has been added as of last week.

Hershey said those races will include both side-by-sides and four-wheelers, and he hopes they will attract a whole new crop of racing enthusiasts to the facility this summer because of the significant number of people in the community who own side-by-sides and use them frequently.
