The county has submitted the required documents for a State Lands and Investment Board audit of all active grants from that board in Weston County, but had not heard anything else from the state regarding the audit prior to the first commission meeting of 2018. The commissioners were first made aware of the audit on Dec. 19 during their last regular meeting of 2017.

County Clerk Jill Sellers reported that the state board asked that the documentation be mailed before the end of the year, with a review of the submitted audit to begin after the first of the year.

“I received a letter dated Dec. 8 asking for the county to report back on the status of a list of grants that were awarded to us,” Sellers told the commissioners.
