Coaching basketball has been in Allen Von Eye’s blood for quite some time, and in the past three years, he has added a little bit of middle school football into his coaching DNA. Von Eye has done such a great job with it, that he was named Wyoming Coaches Association’s Fall Middle School Coach of the Year after the 2017 football season.

“Individual accolades only come with team success,” Von Eye said. “But for me, it’s neat, of course. It’s cool to be honored like that, especially when it’s other coaches around the state that honor me.”

Though the award recognizes Von Eye’s coaching abilities, he acknowledges the role his middle school athletes have played in his earning that award. He said he has been very lucky during his time as a middle school football coach to be able to coach the athletes that he has.
