Nancy Lou Bock passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper surrounded in love by her four children. Nancy was born in Rapid City, S.D. on March 24, 1949 to Oliver “Sox” and Marion Bock. A memorial service open house will be held Saturday, July 14 at Masonic Lodge No. 13 in Newcastle from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm with an Eastern Star Five Points Ceremony at 1:30 pm.
Nancy was raised in Osage and on her grandparents Earl and Eva Johnson’s ranch outside of Newcastle. She loved to ride horses and helped on the ranch by bucking hay bales and fixing fence. In 1967, Nancy graduated from Newcastle High School. She attended college at University of Wyoming, Chadron, and Spearfish. Nancy loved to travel and visited Hawaii and the Southwest with family.
In turn, she raised her own children in Osage. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, leatherwork, and the outdoors. Nancy was a tremendous cook and worked in cafes in the area as well as opening her own cafe in Osage. She passed her love of the outdoors onto her children through rock hunting and camping. Nancy also enjoyed to crochet afghans and table covers for family and friends. She particularly loved spending time and doting on her grandson, Oliver.
Nancy was a caretaker of people and animals. She cared for her mother so that she could remain in her own home and went on to do in-home care for others. Animals of all kinds were welcomed and fostered under her guardianship.
Nancy is survived in death by her children Brian Klinker, Heath Klinker, Kari Zimmerman (Jerome), and Jesse Liles. Also, by her grandson Oliver Zimmerman, her brother Larry Dean Bock, her first husband Richard Klinker, and her aunt Marguerite Johnson.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Oliver and Marion Bock, her uncle Keith Johnson, her sister Karen Sue Townsend, her niece Eva Marie Bock, and her nephew Corey Bock.
