The Newcastle Longhorn Sr. Babe Ruth team came up short in its quest for a three-peat state championship last weekend when they lost the title game of this year’s state tournament in Lander by a score of 6-3 to the Casper Crush.

According to team spokesman Jay Whitney, the Longhorns and Crush both advanced to the championship game after cruising to undefeated records through the tournament.

“Newcastle gathered wins against Belle Fourche, Buffalo, and Lander on their path to the elimination round game on Saturday,” Whitney reported.
