Last man standing

Dogie season ends in shootout

It was a shootout reminiscent of the OK Corral.

Unfortunately for the Dogies, when the smoke cleared the Worland Warriors were the Earp Brothers, as they were the team left standing at the end of a nail-biting 4-3 win.

The contest on Saturday was a do-or-die situation for both teams, and the importance of the game was lost on no one. Both the Dogies and the Warriors gave it all they had in this state tournament play-in game, but only one could emerge victorious.

“It was a little bit heartbreaking, but the guys played a really good game,” head coach Josh Peterson nodded. “They battled the whole time and went goal for goal. We just weren’t able to pull it out.”
