The Lady Dogie swim team hit the mid-season mark last Saturday at the Douglas Invitational. The venue there sports a meter pool, which was a new experience for most on the squad given nearly all other schools have pools designed using yards.
Though it may not appear on the surface to be a big difference, the extra distance in each event shows up in the results.
“When you look at times in Douglas, they may seem like they are slower. However, when you convert our times from meters to yards, the girls swam right around their best times,” head coach Doug Scribner explained.
