The Lady Warriors offensive speed proved too much for the Lady Dogies last Saturday, as they fell 0-6 to Worland in the Regional Play-in game. Head coach Bryce Hoffman knew the challenges that lay before his squad, given their opponent enjoyed the number two ranking in the state going into the contest.
“Worland is very skilled, they have a lot of speed, and they move off the ball very well,” he began. “That presented challenges for us defensively because we were moving out of our zones to cover them, and when we’d gain possession we didn’t have anyone available for an outlet.”
The Lady Warriors were able to score on Newcastle early in the contest, after which they kept the Lady Dogies on their heels for most of the first half. Unfortunately Hoffman’s team was unable to answer Worland’s offensive push, so they headed into the break under the cloud of a 0-4 deficit.
