It may be hard to believe, but the time is drawing near for the beginning of the fall sports’ season with practices scheduled to kick off anywhere between August 9th and the 14th. Coaches and players are gearing up to get their 2017 seasons underway.
The first to lace up are head football coach Matt Conzelman’s crew who are scheduled to load up at 6:30 am on August 9th and bus out to Mallo Camp for their annual team bonding, football immersion workout, where they will remain until the afternoon of the 10th.
“The state gave us the option of starting on the 9th or the 14th, and we went for the 9th because those three or four extra days of practice at the beginning can make a huge difference going into the Custer game,” Conzelman explained. “Getting that earlier start kind of evens us up a little bit with them, because they always start before we do.”
