Jan. 8, 1984–June 19, 2020

Charles Wesley Norwood, formerly of Newcastle, Wyo., passed unexpectedly at his childhood home in Willcox, Ariz., on June 19, 2020.

He was born in Sunsites, Ariz., on Jan. 8, 1984, to Roger Dale Norwood and Mary S. Rose. He was 36 years old.

Wesley was a free spirit upon entering the world, learning to climb before he could walk. He always had an enormous love for the outdoors and enjoyed backpacking, hiking, camping and rock climbing. As a young boy, Wesley was involved in the AJRA, youth soccer and training in mixed martial arts. Wesley’s three greatest loves in life were his three children, Kaidynce Renee, Forrest Avery, and Lincoln Alister, who survived him.

Wesley was always ready for an adventure and almost anyone who knew him was sure to have a special story about their adventures with him.

In addition to his children, he is survived by his mother, Mary Verdugo; step-father, John Verdugo; grandfather, Charles Rose; his sisters, Shawnda (Marcelino) Tobias, and Kristie (Christopher) Cordova; his brothers James (Kelby) Norwood, Shawn Norwood, William Norwood, and David Scott Norwood; nephews, Mauricio Hernandez, Hunter Norwood, Jacob Tobias, and Josue Tobias; and his nieces, Maryah Hernandez, Melanie Norwood, and Gianna Cordova.

He is preceded in death by his father, Roger Norwood; maternal grandmother, Catherine Rose; and paternal grandmother, Lona Norwood.
