Cambria String Band teams up with high school choir

“From beautiful love songs to toe-tapping hoedowns the vocal harmonies, banjo, bass, fiddle and guitar will take you on a wonderful musical journey!” advertises the Cambria String Band on their website,

The Newcastle High School choir will present Larry Roetzel and the Cambria String Band on Sunday, April 22, at 2 p.m. The performance will take place at Crouch Auditorium, and Roetzel anticipates the performance will last about two hours, with an intermission in between. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Purchase tickets from any choir member or call Jan Ellis, Newcastle middle and high school choir director, at (307) 746-2713.

After paying the musicians for their time, proceeds from the concert will be split evenly between high school choir students planning their next visit to New York City. Ellis said that every three years, choir students make the trip to sing in Carnegie Hall with a conductor.
