It was a surprisingly pleasant late July day for the fourth annual Border War Football camp last Tuesday as the Newcastle Dogies played host to the Tigers of Lusk and the Wildcats of Custer.
“Man, what a nice day for football!” head coach Matt Conzelman exclaimed. “Out of all the years we’ve put this on, that was the best day by far. We only had three teams this year, but hopefully it’ll just keep expanding as word gets out.”
Conzelman works in conjunction with the coaching staff at Black Hills State University to put on the camp, and he is hoping to get the word out so more teams can take advantage of the opportunity to get in a little late summer field time and also have the opportunity to work with the university coaches.
