Citizen complaint about county attorney behind commissioner request
The Weston County commissioners have agreed to ask the Wyoming attorney general and the governor’s office to investigate the need for a special prosecutor in a case involving an adult charged with sexual assault of a minor.
Because of the commissioners’ action at their meeting on November 21, the judge later that day postponed taking action on a plea agreement reached by the Weston County attorney and the defense attorney in the case.
Newcastle resident Jessica Graham raised her concerns about the case with the commissioners at their Nov. 21 meeting. In a prepared statement, Graham told the commissioners that she was concerned that County Attorney William Curley showed “a lack of attention, knowledge and professionalism in the case.”
