Buy yourself some peanuts and Cracker Jack, and then head on down to the baseball fields on Saturday, May 26th for Newcastle Little League’s 52nd annual Opening Day. The day will be filled with a parade, baseball, free hotdogs, and fun.

At 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, a parade will kick off Opening Day activities. The parade will start at the courthouse and work its way all the way down to the baseball fields. The parade will encompass not only Newcastle teams, but also Upton and Hulett.

“We used to have a parade way back in the day but it kind of got lost, so we’re trying to get it back,” Jared Evick nodded. “It’s kind of like the official opening of summer.”
