Standing in the News Letter Journal office, looking like a spritely 70-year-old rather than 10 years from the century mark, is Louie Doell. His hands and his eyes are full of stories to be told of the 90 years he has spent learning all about life, and he is eager to share.
His has been a life filled with “beautiful women and 100 dollar bills,” Doell jokes. He married a beautiful woman, whom he raves about frequently, and had five beautiful children with her. He attributes his success, and staying out of jail, to his wife, who he said slowed him down once they got married.
“Getting married was probably the best thing to ever happen to me, otherwise I probably would have been a complete outlaw,” Doell says.
